Step Up to The Table is a grassroots initiative inspired by a social media challenge. The intent is to encourage the population to purchase restaurant gift cards or a take out to their favorite restaurant, in an effort to help save restaurants. Step Up to the Table is a way for all who simply want to give back. This call-to-action through their network is intended to unify and support all restaurants, helping them weather the economic impact they are facing due to the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic mandated shut downs.

We are glad you asked! It’s simple to get involved. You can purchase gift cards and/or pick up a meal from your favorite restaurant, taking a photo or video of the experience, then share it on social media using the hashtag #StepUpToTheTable! Step Up to The Table was initially inspired by, Helen Lao aka #HelenOntheMove, and her team at ClearPath Solutions as a way to give back to the restaurant industry, that has given so much to them. This drive has now gained traction with others who are passionate about the restaurant industry across the U.S. These supporters are acting as activists for the industry, challenging one another, as well as their followers, to purchase gift cards or a meal in support of the initiative.

Once you’ve joined the cause yourself, challenge others by tagging them on social media to #StepUpToTheTable and join the movement! The effects of COVID-19 are far-reaching and have led to closures of thousands of restaurants and layoffs of millions of employees. By joining this initiative you can help raise awareness that is critical for the survival of the restaurant industry!
